Your teeth are one of the most important tools your body has. From helping you eat to shaping the way you talk and your smile, your teeth play a pretty active role in your day-to-day life. So obviously, you’d want to take care of them for life, right?

Well, you’d be surprised at how many people just can’t seem to do that relatively simple thing. Luckily, our team here at Mission Ranch Dental Aesthetics in Ladera Ranch, California, has some tips to help you do just that.

Flossing – your teeth’s best friend

If you had to guess, how many people would say floss their teeth on a regular basis?

The answer is only four in ten American adults. That’s rather surprising, right? What a lot of people don’t grasp is just how beneficial flossing regularly is. It removes plaque from between your teeth and near your gum line, two areas where if plaque is left alone it can easily cause cavities or more serious tooth decay.

Regular checkups

Along with flossing, you need to come see Dr. Richard D. Guthrie on a regular basis if you want to make sure there aren’t any other serious oral health problems going on. It’s hard to detect cavities when they’re small on your own, but at our office we have the capability to do that.

At the end of the day you can’t take the risk of not having your teeth with you for your entire life. If you have any other questions about how we can help, call today at 949-388-6325.
